This question has been in the hearts and on the lips of millions of people, and we may rest assured that the Bible does not leave us in any doubt about the answer. God’s Word clearly states that, by nature, all men are born sinners. Therefore, man cannot save himself, nor can he by his own means earn or work his way to heaven.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
—Ephesians 2:8-9

The following are 4 biblical truths in God’s plan of salvation:

The Bible says that all men are born into this world as sinners. We can readily see this when we realize that, by nature, all men are dead spiritually.

ALL are “alienated from the life of God” (Ephesians 4:18)

ALL are “guilty before God” (Romans 3:19)

ALL are “condemned already” (John 3:18)

ALL are “sold under sin” (Romans 7:14)

ALL are “servants of sin” (Romans 6:17)

ALL are abiding in “darkness” (1 Peter 1:9)

ALL are “far off” from God (Ephesians 2:13)

ALL are utterly “lost” (Luke 19:10)

Without God, man finds himself in an awful and desperate condition, by nature (Romans 5:12).

“There is none righteous, no not one” —Romans 3:10

The Bible tells us that God sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world on a very definite mission.

“For the Son of Man (Christ) is come to save that which was lost” —Matthew 18:11

“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” —1 Timothy 1:15

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” —John 3:16

Jesus laid down His life and bore the iniquities of all sinners.

“While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” —Romans 5:8

“My blood…is shed for many for the remission of sins” —Matthew 26:28

Just say “yes” to God’s loving invitation and receive His free gift of salvation that is only offered through faith in Jesus Christ.

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
—Acts 2:21

“…for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
—Acts 4:12

Confess your sins to God and receive His forgiveness.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” —1 John 1:9

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” —Romans 10:9-10

receive

LORD, I come humbly before You. Forgive me, a sinner. I realize I have been wrong all my life. I believe that you love me and that You sent Your Son Jesus to pay the penalty for all my sins. He took my place and shed His blood on the cross. I believe He died and rose again. Now I receive your free gift of salvation and put my faith and trust in You. Fill me with Your Spirit as I choose to follow you from this day forward. Thank You for your love and Your amazing grace.

In Jesus’ name, AMEN.

Did you pray to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
